Melissa Tanner

Melissa Tanner, MHS, CRC, CVE, CCM, CLCP

Melissa Tanner has been a practicing Rehabilitation Counselor in the State of Florida since 1987. She graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1984 with a B.S. degree in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Spanish. In 1987, Melissa graduated from the University of Florida with a Master of Health Science in Rehabilitation Counseling.

As a Rehabilitation Counselor, Melissa has many years of experience completing vocational assessments to assist individuals with a variety of disability conditions in determining their career path. She has also served as a Vocational Consultant in Social Security Disability hearings for many years. In 2017, Melissa joined the team of Spruance & Associates where she continues her work as a Rehabilitation Counselor, completing vocational assessments as well as collaborating on the development of Life Care Plans.

Melissa has been a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) for many years, serving as the Treasurer for the Florida Chapter from 2016 – 2021.
Ms. Tanner is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Vocational Evaluator, Certified Case Manager, and Certified Life Care Planner.

Outside of her career, Melissa enjoys living and playing at the beach, catching a great concert, and spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes or making old favorites. Melissa feels very fortunate to be a long-term resident of Jacksonville Beach!
